Maori are the indigenous first people of New Zealand.
Polynesians are indigenous people of the central & south pacific islands.
It’s hard to explain but unless you’re from here you’d know but there’s sort of a divide in NZ they assume if you’re polynesian you’re just an islander and kind of separate themselves from being connected but whether we like it or not the Maori & Polynesian are so much alike that we should be grouped as the same.
The maori have a very similar dialect to some of the poly languages I feel like a teacher or something GOOGLE IT!!
It’s Pacific Islanders, and no I don’t find that term offensive.
I hear it all the time it’s generally not offensive all Polynesians get called FOBS but I don’t see any malice in that.
Most of them are of South Pacific decent but were born in Australia or NZ anyway most islanders in modern times have no connection to the islands and we don’t come fresh off boats more like planes but it’s all good lmao.
It’s sad that most nesian kids now have never even been to the islands (I’m not like that I’ve been it’s my home and I love it!!)
I think it’s funny that we’re called FOBS but worldwide other races are also called fobs nothing wrong with representing that our ancestors were basically were one of the first cultures to sail the oceans centuries ago so I’m proud of that ;)

Tangaroa, God of the sea, rivers, lakes and all that live within them
I love how with us everything has a specific meaning must be a poly thing!
Yes

Anon mo fo’s asking me questions like I’m Pocohontas from fantasy land Polynesia
It’s REAL dammit lmao
Real islands on this earth you know what I am saying? Honest to god that’s the 4th question asking if I really am from there.. glad I’m baked cause’ I don’t mind repetitive questions if anything they’re entertaining.. THANKS
Islander Bong made from coconut & bamboo
You think they can’t be inventive in the islands? Think again.

The Cook Islands are in the South Pacific Ocean, north-east of New Zealand, between French Polynesia and American Samoa. There are fifteen major islands, spread over 2.2 million km² of ocean
